The bus stop (yes there’s a bus!) is also a 2 minute walk from the pensione, and loops around every 10-15 mins. There are great restaurants within 2-5 mins walking distance, as well as a convenient store. The location is great and offers a beautiful view of Positano and the sea from the balconies and terrace. We had a pleasant stay at Pensione Maria-Luisa. Pensione Maria Luisa is one of the few places that's affordable - yes it's basic, but it's well positioned and the view is to die for.
It's near-on impossible to find somewhere to stay in Positano that isn't eye-wateringly expensive. The pensione itself is run by Carlo - he's delightful and friendly and has so much time to give to chat to his guests, it's a pleasure speaking with him. The pensione is near some really good restaurants - Next2 is a more expensive option but the family restaurant - Il Saraceno d'Ora, run by Maria Luisa herself, is excellent for pizza and very reasonable indeed. They have fridges and the air-con functions well.
Rooms are basic but clean and comfortable. The location is pretty fab too! Fornillo Beach is straight down the steps from the pensione (coming back up is a killer) this beach is not as packed as Positano and I think is much nicer. Definitely get a room with a private terrace - they are really large and well-equipped with furniture. Top Tip: Bring sea shoes as the black sand is really really hot underfoot and getting out of the pebble and stone water can be rather tricky barefoot.The best thing about Pensione Maria Luisa is the fabulous view. Arienzo Beach Club is operational from the beginning of May until the first week of October. You’ll find several packages available at Arienzo Beach Club are quite pricey and they have increased their prices since the previous year. There’s no better place to enjoy an Aperol spritz than sitting on the terrace of the restaurant of Arienzo and enjoying one of the greatest views in Italy. Of course, it goes without saying that the food you’ll experience in Arienzo Beach Club is fantastic, with fresh seafood throughout its menu and of course, pasta dishes abound.
